Anaheim Convention Center Debuts ACC North Expansion on Sept. 26:
Cementing its place as the largest convention center on the West Coast, the Anaheim Convention Center completes its $190 million expansion of ACC North, a new facility that adds 200,000 square feet of flexible space for exhibit, ballroom or meeting needs. Its flexible function space is divided between two levels, of which the top is column-free. A sweeping 10,000 square foot balcony offers opportunities for outdoor gatherings with views of Disneyland’sÒ nightly fireworks. A climate-controlled pedestrian bridge provides access between the existing facility. With the completion of ACC North, the Anaheim Convention Center grows to 1.8 million square feet, officially joining the ranks of the “1 million-square-foot club” list of facilities offering more than one million square feet of exhibit space. Anaheim Visitor Volume on Pace for Another Record Breaking Year
Visitor volume numbers from Jan. to June 2017 show Anaheim is on pace for another record-breaking year, all before the summer season began. In June 2017, Anaheim welcomed an estimated 2.1 million visitors to the destination and their spending throughout Orange County contributed approximately $740 million to the local economy. Compared to June 2016, Anaheim visitor volume increased by 1.3 percent and total visitor spending in Orange County by Anaheim visitors rose by 4.4 percent. Year-to-date (Jan.- June 2017):
- 12,083,000 visitors have traveled to Anaheim, which is 10.6 percent more than 2016.
- Spending by Anaheim tourists in Orange County totaled $4.213 billion, which is an increase of 10.1 percent compared to 2016.
Monthly visitor statistics help to illustrate the positive impact and opportunity tourism brings to Anaheim and Orange County. Revenue generated from tourism leads to an increase in nonexportable jobs, small business success, and contributions to the city’s general fund that is funneled to police and fire departments, libraries and maintenance for local parks.
