D23 Expo: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event
Orange County is known for amazing weather, beautiful beaches, gorgeous palm trees and of course, a mouse. We are proud to have the original Disneyland here in Anaheim, where Walt Disney’s footsteps and fingerprints are literally found in every part of this beloved theme park. Of course, the Disney brand is also associated with movies, characters, music, vacations, hotels, and even Home Depot paint colors! There is only one way to experience everything Disney, and that is at the D23 Expo August 19-21, right here at the Anaheim Convention Center.
D23 is the Official Disney Fan Club and was launched in 2009. The name D23 refers to Disney and 1923, the year the company was founded. The inaugural D23 Expo was in 2009, and Anaheim is proud to host this event again. It has been billed as “The Ultimate Disney Fan Event” and will offer something for guests of all ages. The goal of D23 is to communicate with Disney fans by placing them in the middle of the magic.
You will definitely feel that magic as soon as you walk onto the show floor. The D23 Expo will be the largest and most impressive gathering of all things Disney ever. It will feature over 400,000 square feet of displays throughout the Center, such as a Disney Dream Store, a beautiful display of archival and vintage material, and exciting tales of action with the Marvel Super Heroes. There will be a beautiful display of the magic that goes into a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding, as well as displays of the healthy snacks that you can share with your family through Disney Consumer Products.
A very special part of the D23 Expo is the panel discussions and presentations. This year’s schedule includes Imagineers discussing the newly reopened “Star Tours” and how this attraction was updated. There will be special appearances by Radio Disney and Disney Channel personalities, previews of upcoming Pixar animated features, special celebrity guests and a 45-year celebration of the classic attraction, “It’s A Small World.”
The Expo is open from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM daily. Tickets may be purchased on-site or through the D23 Expo website. D23 Members have the privilege of entering the Expo an hour early at 9:00 AM, as well as enjoying a discounted admission price. Full details are available here on the D23 Expo website.
