The First Annual OC Fest of Ales

Posted September 17, 2012 by Tessa Kranz

Festivals and events are the best part of the Fall season! This year, Anaheim is hosting its first annual OC Fest of Ales and 5K Beer Run. This event captures the best of two worlds: a 5K run, followed by a beer and food tasting festival!

The OC Fest of Ales will be held September 22, from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m at the Center Street Promenade in Downtown Anaheim. There is truly something for everyone at this festival, let me break it down:

OC Fest of Ales General Admission:

At this 21+ event, you can taste beer from a variety of 100 hand-crafted beers from more than 20 local brewers. There will also be eight of Orange County’s most popular food trucks serving up each of their specialty items along with a special “beer-inspired” treats. Don’t forget about live music and games through out the festival.

5K run:

The 5K run starts at 9a.m. and brings you through the beautiful and historic Downtown Anaheim and many (optional) obstacles and games along the way.  The run is concluded by a “foaming finish line” and a pancake “beer-battered” breakfast at 11 a.m. 5K runners can purchase run-only tickets or 5k/beer fest combo tickets. Those with combo tickets get to enter the beer fest early!

The VIP Experience:

Those who purchase the VIP experience get admission to the OC Fest of Ales, in addition to exclusive restaurant food parings and beers in the VIP room. VIP ticket holders also get a goody bag, free admission to MUZEO and have access to permanent bathrooms… I’m sold!

Home Brewers Competition:

This part of the event is not open to the public but you can still cheer for your favorite home-brewer friends, as the winners will be announced at the event!

This is a one of a kind event that is sure to be a blast! Get tickets and more information at OCFestofAles.com
